Missing Memories takes readers on an emotional roller coaster experience they’ll never forget.

Prior to Jack and Sara McCabe’s marriage, Jack discovered a letter from his grandfather. In it, he learned about his parents’ skiing trip to Austria where they mysteriously died. Stunned by this revelation, he and Sara flew to Innsbruck to investigate.

The cold-case files had been sealed at a local police station. When the couple opened the documents, they discovered the cables supporting the gondola his parents were in were hit by long-range rifle bullets. The couple plunged to the rocky terrain below, instantly ending their lives.

Seventeen years later, Sara surprised her husband with an amazing birthday gift. She arranged a family skiing trip to the Alps.  Jack was thrilled, but he tried to bury the brutal memories of his parents’ murders.

Could something sinister occur to Jack's family again?

One early reader wrote, “Missing Memories was so good! I cried at the end, with happy tears. Isn’t that a sign of a great book?”

J.T. Kelly began writing his novels at the age of 70. Certainly not the time to begin a new career for most people but now, three years later, there are six books in his international thriller series.

Each of the books begins in the Lake Maxinkuckee area where the McCabes own a cottage. Due to unforeseen crimes, the stories expand to Europe and involve a familiar cast of seasoned Interpol officers.

Like the McCabes, Kelly’s family began going to Lake Maxinkuckee next to Culver, Indiana, in the late 1940s, where rich memories flourished. At Notre Dame, Kelly’s year abroad to Rome, Italy, allowed him to travel extensively, providing a backdrop for his vivid stories.

J.T. Kelly has published his fifth fictional thriller titled Diamond Destiny. Readers discover diamond thieves are ready to strike and wonder who will escape with the ultimate prize?

The initial heist attempt takes place next to Lake Maxinkuckee in northern Indiana. Culver Military Academy is hosting an alumni celebration and arranged to have priceless diamonds and jewels displayed from the Smithsonian Museum. Will fictional Culver Detective Lewis Tenant and Deputy Jerome Atrich be able to stop the thief before it’s too late?

The criminals also plan to hit major European cities in a brilliantly timed and orchestrated plot. Interpol must track them down before they attack. The robbers are cunning. Their schemes are ingenious.

The thieves’ targets? Some of the world’s most prestigious jewelry stores, including Tiffany’s and Harry Winston’s. And annual events such as the Cannes Film Festival and the Paris Fashion Show. Diamond jewelry usually adorns movie stars and top models at these celebrations. If the thieves have their way, the diamonds will disappear.

One of the bold bandits has his eye on the most famous gem in the world: the Hope Diamond. This 45-carat blue stone, surrounded by white diamonds, is valued at $245 million. On display at the Smithsonian for decades, the rock was originally mined in India in the 1600s and then inset in the forehead of a large temple idol.

Throughout history, the Hope Diamond has either been stolen or sold for riches. But this stunning gemstone comes with a curse—dreadful misfortunes befall those who’ve possessed it. Is the thief willing to risk everything to steal this legendary treasure?

In Kelly’s five novels, the action begins in the Lake Maxinkuckee community and ultimately transports the reader to various European locales. In Diamond Destiny, the search for criminals takes place in Munich, Prague, Cannes, Zurich, Paris, Venice, and other breathtaking locales.

From childhood through his adult years, the author spent summer vacations at Lake Maxinkuckee and treasured his time on the lake and its surroundings. As a junior at Notre Dame, he spent a year abroad in Rome, Italy, and traveled extensively in Europe. He’s woven these seminal experiences into his fictional mystery series.

Author J.T. Kelly says that readers of his International Thriller series should be familiar with a villain named Adamis Baum. In Formula for a Felony, he believed the earth could not sustain the world’s population because of its dwindling natural resources. As a result, the terrorist and his minions planned to annihilate billions of people by dispersing a deadly virus into the world’s water systems.

To protect his faithful from the virus, Baum forced a hostile takeover of the pharmaceutical company NuPharma. Its drug, RGB101, offered phenomenal healing powers – even as a cure for the virus. Fortunately, Interpol tracked down Baum and ended his life before he could implement his scheme. In an ironic twist, protagonist Jack McCabe turned out to be the closest living relative to Baum and inherited NuPharma.

In Formula for a Felony, McCabe has submitted RGB101 for FDA clinical trials, hoping to treat patients with heart disease and diabetes. The NuPharma team is unaware of a corrupt pharmaceutical lobby known as the Consortium that’s opposed to the FDA approval. Karsen Ojin, a wealthy power broker, has nearly amassed a controlling interest in the six pharmas behind it. These companies produce products that are already successful in the markets NuPharma hopes to compete.

The Consortium’s fears of RGB101 cutting into their profits lead to a series of felonies to stop the new competitor in its tracks. Along with murderers and kidnappers, the pharmaceutical lobby has two unscrupulous senators in its pocket. Ojin’s beguiling enforcer uses her contacts in the underworld to achieve the lobby’s ruthless agenda.

J.T. Kelly gained a love for the European continent while living in Rome, Italy, for a year and traveling extensively during his junior year as a Notre Dame student. He combined this experience with fond memories of summer vacations at Lake Maxinkuckee in northern Indiana.

In his first three novels, Fair Ways and Foul Plays, Deadly Defiance, and Suite Suspicion, Kelly employs many of the same characters. Readers will find villains led by ruthless madmen. Then there are neo-Nazi criminals who come to the Lake Maxinkuckee area from Warsaw. Fortunately, the bearded Culver police detective and his elderly deputy try to keep order. Kelly believes they somewhat resemble Sherlock Holmes and Watson, especially in the later books.

Although they don’t have a role in the latest book, another group of fictional characters are the descendants of Potawatomi Indians who now live near the lake. Stories describe their ancestors’ journey to the lake and a forced exodus west for many of them. Kelly says that the current Potawatomi family has kept many of its tribe’s customs. Events in their lives create fascinating and sometimes otherworldly episodes.
